# Introduction

  The Real Asset DAO is the governance token for what will become Real Asset Network (RAN), and is the tokenized ownership of the DAO. Real Asset Network will be the layer 1 blockchain that will enable the tokenization, recording, management, sales, and connection of multiple charter sub-chains bridging real-world assets to be tokenized and taking advantage of blockchain and smart contract technologies to leverage and add new layers of profitability to those real assets. Our platform, once completed, will be scalable, transparent, and immutable, and will leverage zero-knowledge proofs to onboard more traditional assets that face challenges in tokenization, bringing more profits for owners of value.

Traditionally, the only way to profit from real estate was through:

1. Rent
2. Appreciation
3. Renovation for resale

Our blockchain will introduce a few new avenues for profit, such as:

4. Tokenized Equity Automation Loans (TEAL) or (TEA Loans), 
5. Fee's and rewards from automated market makers (AMMs), 
6. Interest from our liquidity pool, and assets under management, 
7. Interest from tokenized real estate equity. 

   With the advent of Decentralized Finance (DeFi) and AMMs with smart contracts, property owners will have a new avenue for profits in addition to their traditional roles of profit.
